We are a group of regular folks, who have been working hard since 2014 to open a community-owned grocery store in McHenry County, IL and we hope you will join us!

The Food Shed Co-op incorporated in 2014 as a business organization under the Illinois Co-operative Act. A cooperative is a group of people who work together for economic benefit. The Food Shed Co-op will be a full-service grocery store voluntarily owned and controlled by our Owners, who have purchased equity shares in the co-op. Co-ops are (small “d”) democratically governed. Co-ops are businesses, not clubs or associations.
