This will be our day of community. Vitalant’s Bloodmobile will be on site and open from 8am to 1pm. You can participate as a walk-in visitor or use the QR/website address (click here) to book your appointment ahead of time. This is a great way for you to individually give back to your community.
McHenry County’s local radio station, Star 105.5, will have their rolling radio at the co-op from 10am to noon to provide visitors with music, entertainment and prizes. Live music will be provided by local musician, Mike Breen, from 12:30 to 2pm.
Our friends from the Woodstock Food Pantry will also be on hand to accept donations. Bring a food or dry goods donation for a chance to win a free Food Shed Co-op T-shirt!
From 11am to 2pm, we will be cooking and serving 2 buck smashed burger meals and vegan hotdog meals, again with generous donations from vendors. All proceeds go to the Woodstock Food Pantry.
Julie Ann’s ice cream truck will have ice cream available for purchase.
Finally, you will have a chance to meet and talk to representatives from the local, non-profit organizations that we are supporting through our “in the bag” wooden nickel program that encourages shoppers to bring in their own reusable bags and bulk containers. The program is currently raising money for Young At-Heart, Senior Pet Adoptions and Warp Corps, Prevention Through Engagement, both from Woodstock.
