The Food Shed Co-op contracted with the local architectural firm DDCA in Prairie Grove, Illinois, to complete plans for our community-owned grocery store. The flipbook below provides a brief look at the drawings produced by DDCA, which were presented to co-op member-owners on June 14, 2022, by Co-op General Manager Peter Waldmann. It was an exciting moment when owner-members got their “first look” at the store they owned!

Although the Food Shed Co-op will be open to everyone, and membership (ownership) is not required to shop in the store, owner-member growth has been robust since the cooperative released these store’s drawings. Since the start of 2022, ownership in the Food Shed Co-op has grown by 530 owner-members.
