Friday BMP Talks & Tours

April 17 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join us for a powerful conversation about the future of food—and the role our community can play in shaping it.

On Friday, April 17, the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County and the McHenry County Department of Planning and Development will host a Talk & Tour featuring the Food Shed Co-op co-founder Scott Brix. In his presentation, “The Food System We Built – and the One We Need,” Scott will explore how today’s global food system impacts our environment—and how local, regenerative solutions can help us build something better.

This event goes beyond the lecture. Meet three local McHenry County farms leading the way in regenerative agriculture: Broadview Farm and Gardens (Marengo), Wanda Farms (Harvard), and Tribe Country Farms (Woodstock). These farmers will be on hand to share their practices, answer questions, and connect you directly to food grown with soil health, biodiversity, and long-term resilience in mind.

After the talk, attendees are invited to the Food Shed Co-op for a guided tour showcasing these principles in action—from sourcing to store shelves.

Come curious. Leave inspired—and connected to a more resilient local food system. Click HERE to register for FREE!
